Our new garden in Mara Kissa

The urgently needed fence is installed
Our new garden between Mara Kissa and Busura is under construction.
In January, Kerstin Gebhardt visited the new project in Mara Kissa. This garden has also been on the waiting list for some time.
As always, the village elder, many women and the man who contacted us were on site. Our contact person is a teacher in the village and is also trained in agriculture. Kerstin naturally tested him first with her specialist knowledge. She was more than pleased and it was agreed that he would visit the women in our other gardens and pass on his knowledge to them. It's a great win-win situation.
The villagers have already shown a great deal of initiative. They financed the 31-metre-deep borehole, the tower, a pump and, for the time being, two solar cells themselves. They took out a loan for the necessary water tank. Hats off, they have never shown so much initiative before. This shows how important a functioning garden is to them. The area is already being cultivated. However, the fence is still missing and the men have to take turns guarding the garden every night. Otherwise the free-roaming cattle would happily munch on the growing vegetables and all the effort would be wasted.
That was the decisive reason for supporting this project. In mid-April, we submitted our commitment and delivered the necessary fencing material for the 150 x 150 meter area. The men started work immediately.
We will soon be installing more solar cells and building the necessary water basins. But all in good time.
For this we need the necessary money and again your support. You can do this simply by clicking on the following link at betterplace, 80 euros for a water basin (click on this link to go to betterplace).
Thank you very much already.
